Our brand-new, premier function space, Salt at the Elliot was constructed and opened in 2022 and is a premium, built-for-purpose area for all kinds of events. 

Featuring a clean and modern coastal vibe with a flexible seating layout, the Event Space is perfect for large celebrations, cocktail parties and meals.

We're perfectly situated for wedding receptions - a literal stone’s throw from the gorgeous beaches, parkways and gardens Port Elliot has to offer, as well as beautiful local churches and heritage-listed sites. After your ceremony, your guests can congregate for a drink in the Wine & Tapas Bar while your photos are taken, before moving into the main hall for the reception. And of course, we can always make space for a dancefloor!

At just over and hour’s drive from the Adelaide CBD, our versatile space also lends itself to professional events such as conferences, seminars, networking events, brand launches, workshops or large corporate dinners with clients if you want to get them out of the city to show them the beauty that South Australia has to offer. We can even recommend local accommodation and transport companies to help facilitate this for you.


A slightly cosier setting, the Wine Bar in Salt at the Elliot is adjacent to the Event Space and contains a main bar area with smaller more intimate zones and tables perfect for sharing a few bottles of wine and a few shared plates with family and friends.

Salt has a casual and relaxing atmosphere - giving you a great spot for an afternoon catch up over a drink, or a quiet night cap after dinner. So pull a stool up to the bar and let one of our team make you one of our specialty cocktails!

While the intent is for this space to be open and accessible to the public throughout the day, we are open to hiring all or parts of this smaller space out if the timing, situation and  event is right.

For more casual, semi-private celebrations we have the ‘Garden Room’.


An under-cover area adjacent to the beer garden that has its own bar service area, staff and AV system this space is perfect for birthday parties or casual social events - and can also be booked out exclusively for a fee.

Accommodating 40 to 60 guests depending on your requirements, our team can work with you to create the perfect experience – whether you want canapes or pizzas brought out for grazing, planned and plated meals for a sit down celebration dinner, or you just want some parmis off the Hotel a la carte menu, we have you covered!
